ZOO ANIMAL HEALTH NETWORK (ZAHN)

ZAHN is a collaborative effort between Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Animal Care (APHIS AC). ZAHN was developed due to the growing list of diseases that could pose a threat to the managed wildlife community. ZAHN projects focus on surveillance and preparedness for infectious diseases such as avian influenza, yet they are expandable for other diseases of concern. ZAHN is hosted by the Davee Center for Epidemiology and Endocrinology at the Lincoln Park Zoo. For more information on all of ZAHN’s projects, please scroll over the individual project links below.

The mission of the Foreign Animal Disease project is to provide online training and resources to expand the scope of Foreign Animal Disease preparedness to include exotic animals.
