You are here: Foreign Disease

The mission of the Foreign Animal Disease Training Module Group is to expand the scope of foreign animal disease preparedness to include exotic animals. Towards that end, USDA Animal Care has funded development of training materials targeted towards zoos, exhibitors, sanctuaries and others in the exotic animal industry. Although excellent training materials for foreign animal disease currently exist in electronic format, our curriculum will specialize in the unique needs of the exotic animal community.

A central objective is to create and deliver training materials (using influenzas of non-domestic species as an example) for both basic and advanced exotic animal care staff to assist with detection, prevention, and response to foreign animal disease
