Zoo Animal Health Network
The Zoo Animal Health Network (ZAHN) is a collaborative effort between Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Animal Care (APHIS AC). ZAHN was developed due to the growing list of diseases that could pose a threat to the managed wildlife community. ZAHN projects focus on surveillance and preparedness for infectious diseases such as avian influenza, yet they are expandable for other diseases of concern. ZAHN is hosted by the Davee Center for Epidemiology and Endocrinology at the Lincoln Park Zoo. For more information on all of ZAHN’s projects, please scroll over the individual project links below.
